> The Christian charity Alabare held its annual sleep out on 13th March this year. Over 100 bedded down in the cloisters of Salisbury Cathedral as temperatures dropped towards zero and a brisk south westerly breeze kept everyone tucked up in their sleeping bags. The Salisbury Plain Benefice had three participants including the Rector’s husband, Sean. Picking the doorway of the Chapter House the team rolled out their bedding and two of the three were soon snoring steadily. Unfortunately, the third, Sean had to move fifty feet from the other two so that he could finally get to sleep. Sleeping mats and beds were rolled up at 6.30am and the team were sent on their way with a warm drink and a range of sweetmeats donated by local businesses. The event raised over £5,000 and money is still coming in. Every pound raised will be used to finance the charity’s rough sleeper drop in centre. > Sent from the iPad
