The Revd Stanley Trickett
We are sad to inform you that The Revd Stanley Trickett, who served this community faithfully during the 1980s and 1990s died at the beginning of the month. His funeral will take place at St. Mary’s, Alderbury on Monday 23rd January at 2.00pm. Please do remember his family in your prayers at this time.

FORTHCOMING EVENTS
Admission Service for Deanery Lay Pastoral Assistants, 17th January
7pm, St Mary’s, Shrewton. Please do come to support the members of our parish who have been training during the past few months to become Lay Pastoral Assistants. They will be admitted to this role by the Venerable Alan Jeans, Archdeacon of Sarum.

Week of Prayer for Christian Unity
Traditionally the week 18th -24th January is one in which we gather together to pray for unity across the world. This coming year we will be marking this important week with three gatherings in Shrewton:

  • A service for Women’s World Day of Prayer
    Methodist Church 18th January at 7.30pm
  • An interactive ‘Prayer Space’ and opportunity for quiet prayer and reflection
    St Mary’s, Shrewton 22nd January at 6pm
  • “Soup and Sing”
    The Bustard 24th January at 7pm

The Benefice Quiz, 4th February,
IT’S BACK!
Recreation Hall, Shrewton, doors open from 6.45pm.

For the past couple of years we have really enjoyed the friendly rivalry posed by our 4 villages competing against one another at this event hosted by Shrewton. Do come and join us for a fun evening with a hot buffet, either on your own or try and make up a table of 6 or 8
