Ascension Service, 25th May 7pm

St Thomas à Becket Church, Tilshead

Do come to share in this service which marks one of the most significant events in our church life. Although we often forget this day among the busyness of Christmas, or Easter, this is the occasion upon which Christ gave out his Great Commission before taking his leave of the disciples.

Orcheston Garden Party on Saturday, 3rd June from 2pm onwards Plants, produce and delicious cream teas will be served at Crown Cottage by kind invitation of Derek and Maureen Harnett. Raising money for St Mary’s, Orcheston and all are very welcome!

Welcoming our New curate, Stéphane Javelle

Please look out for the leaflet in churches about our welcome to Stéphane. Some of you have been asking what a ‘curate’ actually is, so there is further explanation to be found there.

On 2nd July, Stéphane will be ordained in Salisbury Cathedral. All are welcome to attend that service. The PCC have decided that there will be no morning service in the Benefice on that day. In the evening of 2nd July we will have a short welcome service for Stéphane at Chitterne church at 5.30pm, so please come to that if you can’t get to the cathedral or lunch (see below).

SHARING MEAL, following Ordination Service, Maddington Church Room, 2nd July
