Note on “the” Service this Sunday

Dear friends,

please find attached the church notices for the coming week.

The great weekend is nearly upon us! Stéphane Javelle, our new curate, will be ordained in Salisbury Cathedral at 10.30am on Sunday; a sharing lunch in Maddington Church room will follow- hopefully you have already notified us if you are coming to this- and then we have a very special welcome service in Chitterne Church at 5.30pm on Sunday evening.

All are very welcome to join us at this special service. Please note that because of the ordination, the PCC decided that there will be NO OTHER SERVICES in the parish this Sunday.

We look forward to seeing you soon,

Eleanor x

NEIL CHAPMAN, SHREWTON
It is with great sadness that we record the unexpected and sudden loss of Neil last weekend. His funeral will take place in Shrewton on Monday 10th July at 10.30am. Mourners are asked to dress ‘smart casual’ and not in suits.  Please remember his wife Jane, his brother, dad, and his children in your prayers.

CLERGY CONFERENCE- IMPORTANT NOTICE
Please note that between Monday 3rd and Thursday 6th July none of the clergy will be in the parish. We are all attending the triennial clergy conference in Derbyshire. We can be contacted during that period by the office mobile phone (number below) and Eleanor will also access her email during that time. If something urgent happens, please do make contact with us and we will make arrangements to support you.

MICRO LIBRARY/BOOK EXCHANGE
This collection of books on a pew in Shrewton, St Mary, is very popular, and as a result we are down by a few books. If you have a paperback or two you’d like to donate (they are free to people to either borrow or keep), please pop them on the pew in the north aisle (back pew nearest the door). The only rule is that this is ‘micro’, so we only ever fill one pew. Thanks.
