Blessed Lord, who caused all holy scriptures to be written for our learning: help us so to hear them, to read, mark, learn and inwardly digest them that, through patience, and the comfort of your holy word, we may embrace and for ever hold fast the hope of everlasting life, which you have given us in our Saviour Jesus Christ, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

MARGARET ERRINGTON
We are very sorry to announce the death of Margaret Errington, who lived for a while in Shrewton, and moved last summer. We remember her sons and their families in our prayers.

FORTHCOMING EVENTS

Remembering our Loved Ones, 2nd November
7pm at Shrewton, St Mary At this annual service we remember those who have died, and offer our prayers for them and for those who are grieving. Refreshments will be served from 6.30pm. Please ensure that any names to be read out at the service have been added to the lists in church, or notified to us by email by the end of 29th October. Many thanks.

Act of Remembrance 11th November, Chitterne War Memorial
As has now become our tradition we will mark Armistice Day at 1100hrs on 11th Novemer at Chitterne War Memorial as well as at each church on Sunday 12th November. All welcome.

Trussell Trust Shoebox Filling, 11th November 10.30am, Shrewton Methodist Church
On this occasion you are invited to contribute items towards a shoebox, make a donation, or come and complete a whole box. Completed boxes may also be brought to the Methodist Church for delivery during the following week.

TEMPORARY RE-ORDERING IN ST MARY’S CHURCH, SHREWTON
We have been given permission to temporarily remove 4 pews in the rear north aisle of the church, with a view to making a faculty application for their permanent removal. The space would be left open, in order to make access to the Books of Remembrance more straightforward. We have just put into the church 24 chairs- again for a trial period of 6 weeks-which could be used at any big service or event where additional seating is required. Please let us know if you have any comments during the course of this trial. Thank you.
