100th anniversaries, 30th November 11am
Shrewton War Memorial. On this day we will be marking the 100th anniversary of death of 3 men – George Kyte, Cyril Bundy & John Bull- who came from Shrewton/Maddington. All welcome at this short service of commemoration.

Please note, that due to the Advent Service in St George’s next Sunday afternoon, there will be no Bible Study at Chitterne, and the early (9am) service has moved to Chitterne from Orcheston.

Mothers Union Advent Carol Service,
4th December, 7.30pm in St Mary’s Church, Shrewton. Please bring a torch for this candlelit service. There will be a retiring collection for Mothers in the Salisbury Women’s Refuge to buy gifts for their children.

Any gifts for the women or children will be welcome, however what the ladies really appreciate are gift vouchers to enable them to choose gifts for their families. Thank you!

Shoebox Appeal- message from Sue Allway
Between us the churches in this community sent 21 shoe boxes, 3 bags of extra shoe box stuff, 1 bag of stuff for the shop (not suitable for shoe boxes), 2 bags of food and £65 to cover transportation cost of shoe boxes. Thank you very much to everyone who gave and/or helped pack boxes.

TEMPORARY RE-ORDERING IN ST MARY’S CHURCH, SHREWTON

We have been given permission to temporarily remove 4 pews in the rear north aisle of the church, with a view to making a faculty application for their permanent removal. The space would be left open, in order to make access to the Books of Remembrance more straightforward. Please let us know if you have any comments during the course of this trial. Please do comment upon the comfort- or otherwise of the chairs as they will be returning to their permanent home next week! Thank you.

Act of Remembrance 11th November, Chitterne War Memorial
As has now become our tradition we will mark Armistice Day at 1100hrs on 11th November at Chitterne War Memorial as well as at each church on Sunday 12th November. All welcome.

Trussell Trust Shoebox Filling,
11th November 10.30am, Shrewton Methodist Church
On this occasion you are invited to contribute items towards a shoe-box, make a donation, or come and complete a whole box. Completed boxes may also be brought to the Methodist Church for delivery during the following week.

TEMPORARY RE-ORDERING IN ST MARY’S CHURCH, SHREWTON
