FOR OUR PRAYERS
Please remember the following people in your prayers… Antonia, Angie, Betty, Bryan, Carol, Caroline, Christopher, Christopher, Emily, Jerry, Jim, June, Karen, Kate, Marion, Maureen, Michael, Oscar, Pam, Peggy, Robert, Simon; for all who are grieving, especially the families and friends of Keith Eve, Libby Anson and Judith Philips.
It is with sadness that we report the death of Judith Philips, who lived in Shrewton. Her funeral will be at St Mary’s, Shrewton on Thursday 22nd February at 11am. We remember her husband and family in our prayers at this time.
Almighty Father, whose Son was revealed in majesty
before he suffered death upon the cross:
give us grace to perceive his glory,
that we may be strengthened to suffer with him
and be changed into his likeness, from glory to glory;
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever. Amen.
Messy Church, 13th February, Shrewton Methodist Church, 10.30am- 1pm
All are welcome to attend Messy Church (please ensure children are accompanied to this activity), which focuses on the theme of ‘Friendship’ this time.
Ash Wednesday, 14th February, 10am, St Mary’s Shrewton A Service to mark the beginning of Lent. All welcome. If any of you have Palm crosses which we can use to make ash for this service, please put them through the Rectory door before Tuesday lunchtime. Many thanks.
The Lent Course Starting 19th/22nd February We are delighted with the level of interest expressed in our ‘bespoke’ Lent Course for the Parish. Flyers are in each church now with the details of times, dates and locations. It is very much a case of ‘turn up and see if you like it’. We also appreciate not everyone will be able to get to the same sessions, so please remember that each Monday evening session is repeated on the Thursday morning.
?????? Questions, Questions ??????? Is there a question you’ve been longing to ask about faith or church, but never felt there’s the right moment to say so? Over the Lent period you will find a box and question slips in every church, where can write down the things that are intriguing, challenging or bothering you. We will endeavour to answer them during Lent course or in our final ‘Challenge/Grill’ session. Questions can be anonymous, but please write as clearly as possible!
