Christmas in a Pandemic

When you can’t easily gather in church, why not bring church out into the community? That’s what we did in Chitterne in December of 2020. A stable complete with light-up star was introduced into the churchyard and as the days progressed shepherds, sheep and the wise men came along to wonder at the birth of the Christ child. The village were able to gather safely outside for Carols at the crib, and somehow things felt a little more ‘normal’ at the end of an extraordinary year.
