PAST EVENTS IN SHREWTON
Sharing with the community
2022
Last summer we began a small community pantry and book exchange project in the porch of our church in Shrewton. The pantry was for garden produce and proved hugely popular. This year once the weather had settled down, we brought the pantry out again, but this time we’ve added toiletries and all kinds of food supplies- whatever people can offer, hopefully to support and assist anyone who may need that extra something. Our book store has expanded too, with books for children, for adults and now books in Russian for our Ukrainian guests. Working in partnership across the village, we hope to expand still further in coming months, and move the pantry to a more permanent and weatherproof location.

A summer of activities!
Summer 2022
Following the huge success of our ‘Takeaway’ activity packs during the pandemic, we have enjoyed a summer of lovely activities with the families in our parish. In all we distributed 80 bumper activity packs covering the themes of Freedom and Peace, and rounded everything off with a Teddy Bears’ Picnic complete with Spin the Wheel, Hook a Duck, a treasure hunt, and the badge machine. The parents didn’t miss out either, as many were delighted to claim a badge saying ‘We survived the summer holidays 2022!’

Year 6 Leavers' Day
July 2019
We love to welcome the children from our church school into their village church on many occasions throughout the year. In July we were delighted to spend time with the oldest children as they reflected on their time together and what the future might hold. After a delicious picnic lunch, we had a treasure hunt and then enjoyed some specially designed ‘reflection spaces’ together.

Christmas in Shrewton
Christmas 2018
At Christmas some of our congregation took communion for the very first time and we also had a wonderful performance from the Shrewton Silver Band.
