Plain Church Good Friday Service at the foot of the Cross Plain Church Celtic Community

Plain Church is a Celtic Christian Community Church established here on the Plain just over 10 years ago. Celtic Christianity is based on the simple style of worship and a strong commitment to service in the community as in the pre-Roman Church. The daily cycle of prayer for Community members often follows the Northumbria Community Liturgy. The Community works together and worships together and its rule is ‘Walk, Worship and spiritual Warfare.’ The belief statement of Plain Church is available to see on our website. Plain Church does not have a church building and tries to worship outside whenever possible, drawing on the direct link with creation to teach and to learn more about the Creator. Plain Church runs a charity called God Unlimited which it sees as it’s ‘doing arm’. Please contact Sue Kirton on 07713 238589, or visit its website

There is so much here which makes us marvel, admiring human ingenuity and the faith which motivated it.’ You can visit the Cathedral’s website
