About the Village
Chitterne is a tiny village with the most enormous church! There’s a story to this striking contrast, which you can read about elsewhere on the site. Along with the church, there is a village hall, a pub, and a wonderful playing field with play equipment for younger children. The field is host to Cricket throughout the summer, village events such as Car boot sales and fetes, and then in November it is the site of the most spectacular village fireworks and bonfire. Though a tiny place, the village is able to support its own newsletter, which is packed full of details of fun events and activities taking place in the community.
The church is at the heart of this village, and due to its location and size we are often able to host concerts, lectures and other events as well as our regular pattern of Sunday worship.
